LIBRARY
The Sports Library was established in 1980 with the objective of enhancing the theoretical and technical knowledge of the professionals, participants and enthusiasts in the field of sports. Our valuable collection exceeds 7500 books, with the focus on the subject of sports Science and other relevant subjects such as Medicine, Health, Sociology, Psychology, and Management etc. The subscriptions include over 40 technical journals in sports and games. In 1994, this Sports Library had been identified by the Directory of the International Sports and Information Center, as the 7th best sports library in the Asian region. It's the only sports research library in Sri Lanka. The library received the grade one Department Library Status by the National Library & Documentation Centre of Sri Lanka in 2009.

Membership & Registration
Sports library is free for everybody for reference work. Membership is required only for borrowing books and other materials. Anybody over 16 years of age is eligible to apply for the membership. Members can borrow a book and a magazine(not the current issue) at a time for a period of 07 days.
